We start projects by using what’s already around us and then applying that material’s natural properties to the design – like the weight of a piece of granite or the smooth surface of reclaimed timber. It’s how we inherently make in a way that wastes less, putting offcuts to use, sourcing locally and reusing where we can.

Our fascination with fixtures, assembly and the relationship between the two – how things can be put together and taken apart – allows our work to tow the line between permanence (built to last) and impermanence (built to adapt), offering up a different perspective on what it means to reclaim, reuse and reimagine. We want to encourage people to connect with the material world around them through endlessly repairable and recyclable spaces and objects.
